Data Scientist

to join our team to use scientific knowledge and translate to digital solutions.

As a

Data Scientist , and member of our PPG Digital Organization, you'll be contributing to specific business projects utilizing machine learning, computer vision, advanced statistical analysis, data mining, optimization, and data visualization methods to drive product and service development that lie at the intersection of both digital and physical sciences. You will make recommendations on the data and provide insights into seeking rapid solutions through agile teams / sprints.

Key Responsibilities

Devising and applying state of the art algorithms related to deep learning and reinforcement learning. Evaluate AI/ML readiness and provide data acquisition recommendations to bridge gaps Visualize data to discover and communicate solutions and opportunities. Application of advanced statistics on scientific problems. Producing meaningful and actionable results quickly with teams Employ Machine learning sub fields such as:

Multivariate data analysis and clustering based models Classification - discrete events and perceptions (image, voice, and text) Regression models Multi-objective optimization

Stay current of trends in applied machine learning, computer vision and advanced statistics. Collaborate with external partners to bring groundbreaking results to PPG operations. Work with global teams to translate innovative ideas into deployable digital products and services with quantifiable business impact. Qualifications

Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Polymer Science or equivalent Strong proficiency in machine learning, with experience in unstructured/cognitive learning algorithms. Strong proficiency with Python Minimum of 5 years of experience using data analysis techniques to solve business related problems regardless of industry. Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in delivering results at the intersection of machine learning, computer vision, engineering and material sciences Experience with Matlab, R and/or other statistical programming languages applying the appropriate statistical procedures to problems. Experience with state-of-the-art deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras or comparable technologies. Six Sigma methodology experience (Yellow belt and above). Experience working with both structured and distributed data technologies ranging from SQL to Hadoop, Hive and Spark. Experience with agile development methodology.
