Overview

Solicit, book, plan and coordinate meetings/functions while maximizing the banquet space to meet/exceed sales goals. Utilize prospecting skills and strong business sense to consistently exceed catering revenue goals. Report all Catering activities to the Director of Sales. Enliven the Westmont Standards within the Department and the hotel. Support all Corporate and hotel initiatives as needed. Responsibilities

Solicit, negotiate and book new and repeat business through sales calls, telemarketing, mailings, networking, etc., while maximizing banquet space to meet/exceed revenue goals. Execute a territorial marketing strategy to maximize revenue and meet/exceed sales goals. Plan, upsell and detail meetings/functions with clients (space requirements, times, equipment, menus, themes/decorations); complete contracts, prepare paperwork, coordinate with hotel areas, and resolve issues to ensure quality and customer satisfaction. Prepare status and period-end reports to keep management informed of activities. Maintain knowledge of corporate/hotel procedures, products, and competitors to improve sales strategies and achieve goals. Respond to incoming catering opportunities and proactively identify, qualify, and solicit new catering business to achieve revenue goals. Close opportunities based on market conditions and hotel needs; understand competitors’ strengths/weaknesses and how to sell against them. Develop relationships within the community and with internal/external stakeholders; ensure high level of customer satisfaction. Build and maintain relationships with existing and new customers through sales calls, prospecting, entertainment, bridal shows, etc.; utilize sales resources and administrative/support staff. Conduct site inspections and create proposals and contracts as required. Demonstrate excellent telephone sales, overall sales skills, contract management and knowledge of food and beverage planning and trends. Understand food and beverage forecasting, attrition, and time strategy as guided by Revenue Management. Follow all Free Sell guidelines and sales strategies; achieve team and individual goals; use MS Office and hotel systems (Delphi or similar). Participate in professional organizations to maintain visibility and promote sales; perform special projects and duties as assigned. Due to business needs, may be required to perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the supervisor. Guest Satisfaction

Ensure high level of customer satisfaction and build long-term relationships to support future revenue growth. Coordinate and communicate with clients regarding event details; follow up post-event; be present during the process and assist as needed. Provide leadership in guest hospitality and ensure service meets or exceeds expectations, creating loyalty and expanding market share. Solicit feedback, address issues and implement corrective actions; emphasize guest satisfaction in departmental meetings and focus on continuous improvement. Use Delphi or other hotel systems to capture and manage customer information daily. Leadership and Work Execution

3+ years of hotel catering sales experience or in a similar industry; proven track record of quality service; leadership experience preferred. Strong verbal and written English communication; knowledge of hotel, brand policies, catering/food & beverage with banquet knowledge. Strong people management, organizational, presentation, and closing skills; effective decision-making and influencing abilities. Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint; familiarity with Delphi or similar hotel systems; strong customer and associate relations skills. Physical Demands

Frequent walking, standing, sitting, hearing, talking, and smiling. Lifting, pushing and pulling objects up to ten pounds. Job Details
