Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience. 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages such as C++ or Java. Experience designing, analyzing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems. Experience with data analytics metadata systems (e.g., HMS, Iceberg Rest Catalog) or data processing frameworks (e.g., Spark, Trino, Flink, Beam). Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields. Experience with data lakes such as Apache Iceberg. Experience with Cloud Networking. Experience in Apache or other similar open-source projects such as Iceberg, Delta, Hudi, Spark, Presto, Flink etc. About the job

You'll be a part of the BigQuery team, where you'll be empowered to design, implement, launch and land large-scale, impactful projects with the necessary support and guidance, and a pipeline of enterprise customers waiting to use your features. You'll be instrumental in shaping the architecture and future of BigQuery's management capabilities. This particular position is focused around improving Federation support for BigLake. Responsibilities

Write product or system development code. Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies. Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices. Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
