Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 7–10 years of progressive sales leadership experience, preferably in wholesale building products, modular/offsite construction, or related industries.
Proven success managing multi-location sales teams of 15+ members.
Demonstrated track record of exceeding revenue targets and expanding market share.
Strong understanding of both business development and account management strategies.
Proficiency in setting KPIs, managing performance, and coaching for results.
Solid financial and business acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and P&L influence.
Proficiency in CRM systems; experience with construction-specific software a plus.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Willingness to travel frequently between locations and customer sites.
Position Summary The Director of Sales will lead and develop a high-performing sales organization of 20+ representatives across multiple locations, with responsibility for driving revenue growth, market share, and profitability in the wholesale building products and modular/offsite construction markets. The Director will oversee sales performance, conduct ride-alongs, provide coaching, set and monitor KPIs, and manage escalations while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
– Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with company objectives, market trends, and competitive positioning.
Team Management
– Lead, coach, and mentor 20+ sales representatives across multiple locations, with potential for team expansion.
Performance Management
– Establish clear sales goals and KPIs, track performance, and implement strategies to exceed targets.
Business Development
– Drive new market penetration and strategic account acquisition while maintaining and expanding existing customer relationships.
Market Expertise
– Maintain deep knowledge of the wholesale market, customer needs, and competitive landscape to identify emerging opportunities and threats.
Field Engagement
– Conduct ride-alongs and on-site customer visits to support reps, strengthen client relationships, and ensure alignment with company standards.
Sales Operations
– Oversee forecasting, budgeting, and pipeline management; ensure CRM and reporting tools are effectively utilized.
Escalation Management
– Serve as the senior point of contact for resolving major customer or operational issues.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
– Partner with operations, marketing, and leadership teams to ensure seamless execution of customer projects.
Talent Development
– Recruit, onboard, and train sales team members to foster professional growth and enhance team capabilities.
