Madrigal’s medication, Rezdiffra (resmetirom), is a once-daily, oral, liver-directed THR-β agonist designed to target key underlying causes of MASH. An ongoing Phase 3 outcomes trial is evaluating Rezdiffra for the treatment of compensated MASH cirrhosis (F4c).**Senior Director, Key Account Director (KAD)**The Senior Director of Key Accounts at Madrigal Pharmaceuticals will serve as a pivotal first-line leader, supporting the Executive Director, Health Systems in the strategic leadership and management of the KAD team. This role will involve working closely with the KAD team to cultivate and foster relationships with key IDN and GI Super Group stakeholders. Reporting directly to the ED, Health Systems, the Senior Director will play a crucial role in supporting the execution of current and future brand and disease-state strategies. As with all employees, the Senior Director, Key Accounts are fully accountable for compliance with all laws, regulations, and policies that govern the conduct of Madrigal activities.Rezdiffra launched in the U.S. as a “specialty drug” with a supporting closed specialty pharmacy distribution model. Health Systems (or Integrated Delivery Networks) that may have intent and ability to control access to pharmaceuticals including Rezdiffra their network of MASH specialists (Hematologists, select Gastroenterologists, and select Endocrinologists). Therefore, it is critically important for Madrigal to build relationships with key decisions makers at these Health Systems and deliver novel value propositions that allow for appropriate use of Rezdiffra by MASH specialists at these Health Systems. This role will support development of Madrigal’s business strategy for Health Systems, partner with Medical Affairs and Market Access to create novel value propositions and deliver them to Health Systems via a team of Key Account Directors in partnership with field personnel from Medical Affairs and Market Access. The Senior Director, Key Account Director, will report directly to the ED, Health Systems.**Position Responsibilities:**As a first-line leader in this field-based role, the Senior Director, Key Accounts will be instrumental in achieving the following objectives:· Provide hands-on leadership and strategic direction to the KADs to achieve defined performance objectives.· Collaborate with the ED, Health Systems to oversee the KAD team in developing business strategies with key IDNs and GI Super Groups.· Support the definition of the culture, structure, and future direction of the KAD team.· Act as an advocate for inclusion and diversity within the team and across all business elements.· Collaborate with Medical Affairs, Market Access, and Commercial Strategy & Insights teams to build novel value propositions that answer the needs of prioritized Health Systems.· Partner with Market Access, HEOR and Finance team members for financial planning and contracting, if needed to answer the needs of any prioritized Health Systems.· Recruit high-caliber Key Account Director team based on the output of market sizing and targeting analysis and in line with prioritized competencies.· Partner with Marketing and Market Access to assure the Key Account Directors have collateral they need for discussions with customers at prioritized Health Systems.· Think strategically about the future needs of prioritized customers and evolve value propositions to meet future needs.· Expect to spend ~80% of work time dedicated to meeting with customers, hiring, leading, and managing Key Account Directors and ~20% involved in HQ matters during each year.· Consistently deliver on business goals and objectives while ensuring that the Health Systems Management team operates with the highest compliance and integrity standards.**Qualifications and Skills**· Demonstrated Health Systems leadership and performance in support of a drug launch.· Strong business acumen, excellent planning skills and demonstrated ability to organize and lead the work of internal partners in Medical Affairs, Market Access, Commercial Strategy & Insights and Marketing.· Strong history of creating and leading high-performance teams and creating a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, high engagement, performance, and accountability.· Attention to detail and the ability to work individually, within a multi-disciplinary team, as well as with external partners and vendors.· Significant product launch experience in Health Systems roles.· Demonstrates exceptional leadership, management, and communication skills to inspire teams to achieve high levels of performance.· Strong executive presence with the ability to set vision and strategy for Health Systems Management.· Strong understanding of payer environment and utilization management measures that impact HCP prescribing requirements and patient access.· Experience working with all levels of management and consulting with key business stakeholders, with an ability to influence greater outcomes.· Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills.· Excitement about the vision and mission of Madrigal.· 15+ years related experience in the biopharma industry with a proven, consistent history of high performance in a broad range of leadership roles of increasing responsibility.· 5+ years of progressive Health Systems leadership experience with demonstrated results with National accountability (e.g., payer account management, organize provider account management).· BA/BS degree required.
