Overview
This is an Exempt Senior Sales Rep position that provides support to the Specialty Foods department. Duties include but are not limited to the following: customer service and sales calls to both existing and new accounts; customer billing and collection; logistics coordination; active participation in food trade shows; accurate and timely preparation and distribution of monthly sales reports, as well as performing market and product research and analysis, as needed. The ideal candidate will be results-driven, self-motivated, and have great analytical, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
Work with supervisor to plan and implement short/mid/long term sales strategies of the Specialty Foods;
Lead general sales activities such as sales calls, customers visits, etc
Execute high level of customer service through timely order taking, revising and adjustment, claim/complaint resolution, responding to general inquiries, etc.
Build and maintain relationships with new and existing customers, as well as effectively interfacing key personnel at the Speciality Foods Corporation
Monitor daily transactions (Purchasing, Receiving, and Invoicing) in the system
Collect all Account Receivables balances in a timely manner and monitor Credit Limit usage
Create necessary marketing tools including presentation materials, training materials for foodservice accounts, etc.
Compile, generate, and analyze sales and shipment data on a weekly, monthly, and yearly basis; other ad-hoc reporting as necessary
Study and understand customer needs and analyze market trends (competitor’s items, pricing, packaging, design etc.)
Support Department Manager in development and implementation of Budgets, Forecasts, and Marketing and Purchasing plans
Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum 2~3 years of sales experience, preferably in the food industry
Knowledge and love for Japanese and Asian food products a plus
Bachelor’s degree required
Bi-lingual English and Japanese
Valid California Driver License and clean driving record
Advanced level Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Travel 10-20% (May require business trips and/or occasional work on weekends and holidays, as necessary with subsititute comp. day(s) allowed.
