The Senior Principal Software Engineer - Embedded and Real Time will join a team to design, develop, integrate, modify and maintain embedded mission systems applications, and participate in the full life-cycle of software development, including requirements development, modeling and design, application development, testing, release, installation, and maintenance. Essential Functions
Work in an innovative environment, on significantly diverse assignments, and in collaborative team settings across all levels Participate in the full software development life cycle including requirements, design, implementation, qualification, and delivery of software products to our customers Architect and develop embedded mission systems software applications on a real time operating system Be a part of Agile Scrum teams to develop software products for multiple software baselines Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 8 years of related experience; OR Master's degree in a STEM discipline with 6 years of experience; OR PhD in STEM discipline with 4 years of experience Recent Demonstrated Professional Experience developing software and scripts in C, OO C++ AND/OR Python for Safety-Critical applications/Systems Familiar with architecting, designing, modeling (Rhapsody or Cameo), implementing, maintaining, integrating, debugging, verifying and qualifying Safety-Critical Embedded Real Time Software written in OO C++ running on RTOS such as VxWorks, Integrity, or Real Time Embedded Linux Familiar with Static & Dynamic Code Analysis Tools and Fuzzing Tools such as Coverity, Fortify, and SonarQube Familiar with Software Change Control, Change Management, and CI/CD tools such as Atlassian tool suite, GitHub, GitLab, and Jenkins Active DoD Secret level clearance OR Top Secret (in-scope), with ability to obtain PAR prior to employment Preferred Qualifications
Strong understanding of C and C++ languages including templates, memory management, and compiler/linker Ability to collaborate with systems engineers, hardware designers and integration/test engineers to develop and maintain complex software systems Demonstrated leadership, teamwork capabilities, and strong interpersonal communication skills Experience with Agile Software Development, OO architectures, programming, debugging, and hardware-software integration and testing Experience with Software Change Control, Change Management, Code Quality, Static Analysis, and CI/CD tools such as Atlassian tool suite, Jira, GitHub, GitLab, SonarQube, Coverity, and Jenkins Experience with DOORs and/or Software Requirements Specification Testing using simulators, automated scripting languages such as Python, MATLAB, JavaScript, and/or Bash Experience with modeling and design tools (Rhapsody or Cameo) and embedded RTOS such as VxWorks, Integrity, or Real Time Embedded Linux Salary & Benefits
Primary Level Salary Range: $118,600.00 - $178,000.00 The salary range is a general guideline; base salary offers depend on scope, responsibilities, experience, education, skills and market conditions. Overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses may apply. Long Term Incentives may be available for certain positions.
