Fuel Systems Engineer (Experienced or Lead)
to join our dynamic Propulsion Systems Engineering team in
Renton, WA.
In this role, you will be instrumental in designing and analyzing our propulsion systems, engaging in various aspects of development, integration, and qualification projects. Position Overview
Our engineering team is focused on designing, certifying, and maintaining fuel systems that prioritize safety, performance, quality, and value for our airline customers all over the world. Our team is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Experienced (Level 3) and Lead (Level 4) Fuel Systems Engineers. Position Responsibilities
Develops specifications and architectural concepts for vehicle systems to meet customer and regulatory requirements. Defines requirements for vehicle fuel and tank systems. Coordinates with suppliers and external partners to drive successful collaboration on Propulsion Fuels projects. Defines and oversees certification tests for fuel systems and components. Creates system and component test plans and procedures, coordinating with partners to meet project goals and schedules. Develops compliance strategies and ensure that certification plans support regulatory requirements. Performs analyses using test or certification data. Creates System Safety Analyses and Airworthiness Limitations documents. Coordinates with the FAA on feedback and issue resolution. Leads the support of fielded systems by developing responses to customer queries and providing technical recommendations to ensure continued reliability, safety, and compliance. Assists in problem resolution for factory aircraft targeted for delivery. Works under minimal direction. Oversees and mentors junior engineers. Communicates project status, risks, issues, and opportunities to Propulsion and Program leadership. Basic Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science. 4+ years of experience in Electrical, Aerospace, Industrial, and/or Mechanical Engineering disciplines. Preferred Qualifications
10+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of airplane fuels systems architecture and Airplane Safety is preferred. Strong technical skills and demonstrated ability to understand complex problems. Strong project and time management skills. Must be able to manage and prioritize multiple projects in support of key milestones and aircraft delivery schedules. Excellent communication skills. Ability to clearly communicate complex scenarios with internal and external Leaders and technical specialists. Experience working multi-disciplinary projects and leading teams. Ability to work effectively with the entire value stream to accomplish desired results. Experience with certification, particularly familiarity with CFR 25.981 and/or 25.1309. Ability to represent the company professionally in demanding environments. Ability to independently develop innovative solutions that meet business targets.
