Overview
A Michigan-based engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join its growing team. With offices in Muskegon, Traverse City, Ann Arbor, and the Upper Peninsula, the firm offers a collaborative, family-like environment where communication is open and every voice is valued. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in structural analysis and design across materials such as steel, concrete, masonry, and timber. Projects include residential, commercial, industrial, and municipal work, including bridges, treatment plants, utility infrastructure, and structural forensics. Base pay range
$100,000.00/yr - $130,000.00/yr Responsibilities
Deliver constructible, cost-effective designs for a wide range of structures Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across offices to support clients including municipalities, architects, developers, and utility companies Lead and contribute to projects involving building superstructures and substructures, temporary shoring, sheet piling, and renovation of existing structures Utilize tools such as Bentley Structural, AutoCAD, and Revit to produce high-quality deliverables Participate in construction engineering and structural forensics as needed Minimum Physical Requirements
Light lifting, sitting, walking, and regular computer use Occasional fieldwork may involve navigating active project sites, climbing ladders, and working in varied conditions Must be able to travel to and from project locations and communicate effectively in person and digitally Education
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering with a structural emphasis Experience and Skills
Degree from an ABET-accredited program PE license in Michigan or ability to obtain via reciprocity Familiarity with codes and standards such as IBC, ASCE 7, AISC 341 and 360, ACI 318, 350, and 530, and NDS Experience with Revit and willingness to learn new design tools Strong written and verbal communication skills Attention to detail and ability to work independently and collaboratively What’s Offered
