Overview
ABM, a leading provider of integrated facility solutions, is looking for a Chief Engineer. The Chief Engineer oversees all activities and staff related to the maintenance and repair of mechanical and electrical systems within a property, with the goal of maximum life and reliability of all systems. The Chief Engineer must be flexible and willing to perform all duties assigned, including maintenance and operations of HVAC, mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems, general building maintenance, and building inspections. The Chief Engineer responds to client requests, opens and assigns work orders, and orders parts as necessary. The role ensures compliance with expense guidelines, company policy, and governing codes. Note: The Company may require that the successful candidate be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 where permitted by law, with exceptions for medical, religious belief, or other legally required grounds. Base pay
Base pay range: $55.04/hr - $55.04/hr Responsibilities
Oversee all aspects of the facility’s critical physical infrastructure Oversee the development and accuracy of site-level operating procedures and other documentation Supervise and escalate ABM’s response to after-hours emergencies at assigned facilities Manage the Change Management Program Manage the MOP, SOP and EOP Program Audit CMMS databases for accuracy and completeness, produce reports as required, and control system access and user credentials Effectively manage the operations budget and expenditures of assigned contracts Manage the complete physical assets pertaining to the operation and maintenance of the critical and non-critical infrastructure equipment and systems Resolve electrical, mechanical and fire protection system issues while minimizing risk and business impact, and communicate issues to management and customers in a timely manner Manage customer relationships and act as the single point of contact for facility-related issues, including schedules, new business, projects, budgets, expansion, and staffing Set, review and approve employee work/PTO schedules; audit and process employee time and payroll Manage access to facilities and maintain appropriate access control lists Make space and power recommendations to the customer and manage power and cooling capacity and environmental conditions Ensure compliance with Customer SLA parameters and Change Control activities; review and approve system changes which could impact customer operations Ensure ABM training expectations are met and audit the process monthly Identify, vet, and approve all subcontractors who will perform on-site work Develop PM contract scopes-of-work and ensure contract terms are fulfilled Qualifications
Basic qualifications: Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related technical field, or five (5) years of equivalent experience; five (5) years of team management experience Preferred qualifications: Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related technical field with three (3) years of work experience is preferred; without a Bachelor’s degree, seven (7) years of experience is preferred Additional information
