Base pay range: $180,300.00/yr - $261,000.00/yr As part of Detection and Measurement, TCI is a global leader in innovative spectrum monitoring and communications intelligence (COMINT) systems. With solutions to ensure the efficient use of frequencies, long distance communications, monitoring and security communications intelligence applications, we improve communications and protect military forces and infrastructure around the world. Senior Engineering Manager for CommTech in our Fremont office will play a crucial role in New Product Introduction (NPI) and Revenue Generating Projects within our Battlespace and Spectrum Monitoring Systems (SMS) markets. You will join a small dynamic team that develops cutting-edge products and lead a large percentage of the Engineering team to deliver key initiatives. You will manage teams involved in New Product Development, Revenue Generating Projects and Sustaining Engineering, including embedded SW, firmware, UI, RF and Antenna Development, and systems engineering. You will own resource planning and staffing to meet workload and drive processes and procedures in support of the Director, Engineering. What You Can Expect In This Role (Job Responsibilities)
Partner with the Director of Engineering to drive success across key initiatives and CommTech KPIs, including strategic input, execution, and performance reporting to keep initiatives aligned and progressing. Lead resource planning and staffing for current and upcoming projects, including development and application of tools to assess staffing adequacy and availability against projected workloads; support evaluating project viability and scheduling decisions to ensure timely execution. Support the Director, Engineering in implementing and enforcing processes and procedures to drive consistency and quality (New Product Development, Testing and Release, Engineering Change Control, Issue/Bug Tracking); ensure compliance and identify areas for optimization. Interface with internal stakeholders to ensure Engineering meets commitments to sustaining and maintenance engineering. Provide a strategic on-site engineering presence in the Fremont office, partnering with the CTO, Director of Engineering, and Chief Engineer to streamline communication and support technical decision-making. Provide line management for Senior Engineers and Engineering Group Leaders, offering strategic guidance and mentorship to direct reports. Support the Director, Engineering with input into planning (resource and budget) and reporting. Contribute to technical input on the design and development of new products, ensuring alignment with engineering best practices, performance requirements, and innovation goals. What We Are Looking For (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)
Required Experience & Education
MSEE or MSCS with emphasis on RF communication systems; MBA (or equivalent) helpful. 5+ years’ experience in RF-based system-level engineering with exposure to both hardware and software components; knowledge of SW development processes (such as Agile) and system testing techniques. 5+ years of increasing management responsibility including technical leadership, staffing, project management, and customer-facing interaction. U.S. citizen, Permanent Resident, or U.K. citizen Preferred Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Process oriented with proven track record of managing teams and delivering measurable outcomes. Ability to communicate complex technical subjects to non-technical colleagues and customers. Strong technical writing and presentation skills. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects running concurrently. Travel & Working Environment

The quoted salary range for this position is $180,300 - $261,000 and represents our good faith estimate. Compensation offers are tailored based on organizational needs, internal equity, market data, geographic zone, and the candidate’s experience, education, and skills.
