The Electrical Engineer focuses on the design and engineering of power, lighting, grounding/bonding, special systems (e.g., telephone/data, security, fire alarm), raceway, cable tray, and other electrical control and building support systems into the built work environment. The individual manages multiple complex tasks, establishes priorities, directs work, oversees the Electrical discipline scope of work, and manages the discipline budget on small to medium projects of intermediate complexity. They coordinate with internal and external architects and engineers, clients, construction managers, subcontractors, vendors and manufacturers. Typical tasks include power load, illumination, short circuit and voltage drop calculations; basis of design reports; code evaluations; one-line diagrams; plans; schedules; installation details; specifications; and coordination with manufacturers and construction trade partners. Tasks involve using software for building information modeling, computer-aided drafting and engineering calculations. Projects cover studies, conceptual and schematic design, design development, construction documentation and construction administration. The individual may work independently or under supervision and may delegate tasks to designers and less experienced engineers. Responsibilities

Designs electrical systems of intermediate complexity in conformance with code requirements and in coordination with other design disciplines. Collaborates with architects, engineers and designers, as well as internal and external team members, to ensure a coordinated, constructible and complete design. Coordinates with construction trade partners, vendors and manufacturers. Develops narratives, reports and construction drawing packages and writes construction specifications on small projects of intermediate complexity with limited oversight. Supports construction activities such as RFI responses, submittal reviews, punch lists and construction progress reports. Plans and directs work and manages a project electrical design budget on small to medium sized projects of intermediate complexity. Supports proposal development under supervision of a Lead or Senior Engineer. Identifies basic non-compliant existing conditions during site walks and construction field surveys. Develops basic internal electrical design and engineering training presentations. Utilizes platforms such as Microsoft Office and BIM software to execute work. Attends professional development activities. Leads quality check efforts for small projects of intermediate complexity and drives overall project quality. Provides mentorship to less experienced Electrical Engineers and/or Designers. Leads systems design programming and master planning on intermediate projects with support from Design Lead or Senior Engineer. May work on one or more projects simultaneously as directed by a Supervisor. Qualifications

ABET-accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering or Engineering Technology 5 years of experience Relevant AEC (Architecture, Engineering, Construction) firm experience Professional Engineer registration in good standing Relevant design firm experience Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD Additional Information

The pay range for a candidate selected for this position who is based in Emeryville is typically $112,500-180,000. The base salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. The selected candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, including but not limited to work location, qualifications, and relevant experience. In addition, CRB offers a total rewards package that includes comprehensive insurance coverage as well as the opportunity to participate in one or more annual incentive programs based on company and individual performance.
