Testing and Commissioning engineers are a front-line field engineering force that commissions, maintains, and troubleshoots transmission and distribution level protection and control systems inside ComEd substations. System and equipment types include protective relays, SCADA, substation automation, power and control equipment, fiber-optic, power line carrier, and revenue metering. The Testing & Commissioning Engineering Technical Development group is a small team dedicated to improving technical skills and knowledge for engineers through hands-on exercises and classroom-style courses. Position may require extended hours for storms or energy delivery emergencies. Primary Duties

The Testing and Commissioning engineers perform field testing and commissioning activities for installation of new equipment, along with troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance of existing equipment. Responsibilities include creating commissioning plans, writing livening procedures, creating and running test plans, and analyzing test results against expected values. They troubleshoot field malfunctions, support corrective maintenance, and perform preventive maintenance on protection system components and SCADA. The Technical Development Team Engineer supports field engineers by creating, maintaining, and instructing programs that build foundational knowledge and improve skills, and provides technical training to other transmission and substation engineers. Supports the technical development of transmission and substation engineers. Applies technical knowledge to promote a safe work environment and enhance customer satisfaction. Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering 2 - 4 years of professional engineering experience Ability to analyze and interpret complex electrical and mechanical systems Knowledge and ability to apply problem solving approaches and engineering theory Knowledge of engineering designs, principles and practices General knowledge and experience with regulations, guides, standards, codes, methods, and practices necessary to perform assignments for a specific discipline, various installations, or services Preferred Qualifications

Strong teamwork, interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with small and large groups including management levels Technical experience related to electrical power equipment, SCADA or protective components Highly organized and skilled with Microsoft Office 365 applications Benefits

Annual salary will vary based on a candidate’s skills, qualifications, experience, and other factors: $83,200.00/Yr. – $114,400.00/Yr.
