The Opportunity We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Warren, NJ office. In this role, you will lead the mechanical design, analysis, and development of complex water and wastewater treatment systems and equipment. You will serve as a technical expert, mentor junior engineers and designers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality engineered solutions that meet client specifications, industry standards, and project schedules. Responsibilities Lead the mechanical design of pressure vessels, piping systems, skids, and packaged equipment for industrial water treatment applications. Review and check detailed drawings, general arrangements, P&IDs, fabrication details, and BOMs. Select and specify equipment such as pumps, valves, and mechanical components to meet project and process requirements. Enter and manage engineering data, parts, and BOMs within the company’s ERP system to support manufacturing and supply chain activities. Ensure designs comply with ASME, ANSI, and other relevant codes and standards. Perform and/ or reviews engineering calculations to support designs. Collaborate with project managers, electrical engineers, and process engineers to ensure integrated system designs. Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to junior engineers and designers. Review vendor drawings and technical documentation to ensure alignment with project requirements. Support manufacturing and field service teams during fabrication, assembly, testing, and commissioning. Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives. Engage with clients and stakeholders to clarify requirements, resolve technical issues, and support project execution. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (Master’s is an asset) Minimum of 7+ years of relevant engineering experience. Licensed as a Professional Engineer. Knowledge of mechanical design codes and standards including ASME, AWWA, API. Strong communication skills, capable of presenting technical information to both internal and external stakeholders clearly and concisely. The ability to be a positive team player in a high paced environment working under tight deadlines. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Capable of working independently, setting priorities, and meeting deadlines. Additional Information This role may require up to 10% travel within North America Physical demands may vary and could include extended periods of standing and occasional lifting of objects.
