Group/Division With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience, chipmakers around the globe rely on KLA to ensure that their fabs ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design, KLA's Global Products Group (GPG), which is responsible for creating all of KLA's metrology and inspection products, is looking for the best and the brightest research scientist, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers. The Broadband Plasma Division (BBP) provides market-leading patterned wafer optical inspection systems for leading-edge IC manufacturing. Logic, foundry, and memory customers depend on BBP products to detect yield-critical defects for process debug and excursion monitoring at advanced process nodes. BBP flagship products include the 29xx and 39xx series which leverage Broadband Plasma technology to capture a wide range of defects with ultimate sensitivity at the optical inspection speeds needed for inline defect monitoring. Job Description/Preferred Qualifications We are looking for a first-rate HPC engineer to join KLA's Broadband Plasma (BBP) Image Computing team. As a staff HPC Product Development Engineer on that team, you will play a key role in designing, optimizing and supporting a cutting-edge Linux HPC infrastructure that is embedded to the world's premier Wafer Inspection tools to execute image processing algorithms in real time. Your responsibilities will include: Come up with innovative technologies to optimize cost and computation time. Collaborate with peers to design, optimize the embedded HPC cluster. Work with multiple stake holders to drive hardware / OS stack qualification. Project-manage the development effort. Develop engineering documentation. Support L4 escalations. Domestic and international travel is required Minimum Qualifications Strong Linux administration skills Proven Linux kernel module development experience Proven experience with designing and supporting a 100+ node cluster in an enterprise or research computing environment Deep understanding of computer architecture Proven experience with Configuration Management tools, such as Ansible, Salt, Puppet and Chef Experience with automation and CI/CD Experience with Nvidia GPU compute Good network administration skills, and experience with InfiniBand or RoCE Experience with containers, such as Docker, Podman, and Singularity/Apptainer Preferred Qualifications Proficiency in Python, C/C++ and Shell programming Strong performance optimization skills Proven expertise in parallel storage, such as Lustre, BeeGFS, Ceph, etc. Proven expertise in distributed computing and parallel computing Excellent writing skills KLA is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
