Heavy Equipment Field Technician (Mechanic)

Overview
Heavy Equipment Field Technician (Mechanic) at EquipmentShare. Location: North Bay Area, CA. You’ll provide maintenance and repair for a variety of customer and company owned heavy equipment machinery and aerial lifts, and help us build the future of construction. Mechanics will have the opportunity to work on the newest fleet in the industry. Salary range: $18-$43. Factors including past experience and location may affect final compensation rate. Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with overtime pay after 40 hours. On call during the weekend only in special circumstances. Primary responsibilities include using our tech to create, assign, and monitor work orders, track machine service intervals, order parts, and diagnose issues quickly by pulling data from hundreds of makes and models. You will determine root causes and corrective actions to enable you to work efficiently and safely. Responsibilities
Practice safe job practices for repairing equipment Use technology (laptops and tablets) comfortably Maintain and repair complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on rental and customer equipment and tools with independent judgment Assist in training lower level technicians as needed Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) daily Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment and parts Be knowledgeable of OSHA requirements (preferred) Field Mechanic: travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance of rental or customer owned equipment; keep service vehicle clean and professional Year-round company provided OEM training Other duties as needed Why EquipmentShare

Required Skills/Abilities
Must own tools applicable to the position Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools Extensive knowledge of construction equipment with understanding of schematics Excellent customer service, teamwork, and verbal/written communication skills Education and Experience
High School diploma; Trade school certificate preferred Experience in field service, maintenance and repair preferred Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record; must be at least 21 to operate company vehicle Physical Requirements
Must be able to move, stand, stoop and bend freely Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds Willing to comply with site entry requirements (e.g., clean-shaven when required) to access customer worksites This is a safety-sensitive position; offer contingent on passing a 10-panel drug screen A Workplace For All
