Overview
CesiumAstro is seeking a Senior Systems/Test Integration Engineer II to join our team. In this position, you will be responsible for developing and executing test procedures, conducting test operations onsite, and supporting system integration and demonstrations at customer locations. This role involves configuring terminals, troubleshooting RF chains, optimizing link performance, and supporting both onsite laboratory and field integration activities. It bridges the gap between system design and customer delivery by combining hands-on technical work with customer-facing responsibilities.
Responsibilities
Design, document, and implement system- and component-level test procedures.
Execute functional, performance, and environmental tests to validate system performance.
Troubleshoot issues and provide corrective actions during test campaigns.
Maintain and improve test infrastructure, setups, and equipment.
Lead or support system-level bring-up activities both onsite and at customer facilities.
Perform end-to-end bring-up and validation of SATCOM links (RF, modem, and network layers).
Ensure proper configuration management and hardware/software integration.
Validate interfaces and subsystems during integration campaigns.
Travel to customer sites for system integration, bring-up, field trials, operational deployments and system validation.
Conduct off-site demonstrations of systems, ensuring reliable performance in real-world scenarios.
Act as a technical representative during field activities, providing feedback to internal teams.
Generate test reports, system integration records, and integration documentation.
Ensure compliance with internal processes, safety standards, and customer requirements.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field.
6+ years of hands-on experience in test development, system integration, or hardware validation.
Strong understanding of RF systems, modems and networking protocols.
Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware/software systems.
Proven background in SATCOM link bring-up and testing (GEO, MEO or LEO).
Strong documentation, organizational, and communication skills.
Experience training technicians and operators to perform system integration/tests.
Comfortable interfacing directly with customers in technical settings.
Willingness and ability to travel up to 30–40%.
Preferred Experience
Experience in aerospace, defense, robotics, or high-reliability systems.
Familiarity with test automation tools, data acquisition systems, and scripting (Python, LabVIEW, MATLAB, C/C++, etc.).
Knowledge of configuration management tools and processes.
Working knowledge of RF test equipment (spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes).
Ability to review, interpret, and approve RF test data and results.
Familiarity or hands-on experience with phased array testing and/or ESA testing.
Ability to work independently or in a small team while offsite conducting field environments.
Compensation and Benefits Salary: $137,000 - $158,000 per year. Full-time employment offers include company stock options and a comprehensive benefits package (health, dental, vision, HSA, FSA, life, disability, and retirement plans).
