Overview

Seeking a Senior Design Engineer that can lead a dynamic team of engineers, administrators, and technicians responsible for design, implementation, operations & maintenance, and cybersecurity for large complex electronic security systems and physical security systems. This position spearheads technical design and serves as the Subject Matter Expert to deliver a complete working system according to project requirements and schedule. Responsibilities

Apply expert knowledge of ESS system concept of operations and the design build lifecycle. See the “bigger picture” while working across the project team to achieve overall project objectives. Review customer requirements and assess design constraints to develop a design that meets customer needs. Plan for and participate in Electronic Security System (ESS) and physical security system site surveys during all project phases. Drive development of security system Engineering Installation Design Packages including Block Diagrams, Riser Diagrams, Mounting, and Wiring Details in AutoCAD. Create project and device schedules with the Engineering Installation Design Packages. Create cable, device, and Performance Verification Test (PVT) plans. Drive planning for and participate in Pre-Installation Testing and Checkout (PITCO) processes including system programming, integration testing, and equipment build outs. Complete calculations (power, heat, voltage drop, conduit sizing, bandwidth). Assist with development of sequence of operations, compliance matrices, and other project support documentation. Apply understanding of NEC, NFPA, UL Code (294, 1076, and 2050), ICD 705, NISPOM. Participate in new technology/product evaluations and recommendations. Communicate status of work and report roadblocks to project and divisional management. Direct junior engineering team members through the project lifecycle to achieve objectives and deliverables. Update, track, and close out engineering changes and issues with the Project Manager or Engineering Manager. Attend and participate in internal and client review/status update meetings. Interface with customer stakeholders to answer questions and present design solutions; collaborate with the Engineering Manager on issue resolution. Assist in bids and proposals process to capture new work. Growth Opportunities

Contribute to the maturation of engineering capabilities and processes by suggesting improvements and researching questions. Collaborate with program engineering leadership to document and share best practices and processes for efficient execution and repetitive design. Work with customers to develop and enhance their specifications for latest technology and optimized delivery methods. Manage customers full lifecycle from recruitment through project delivery in new and growing industries. Qualifications

Clearance/Citizen Type: ACTIVE TS/SCI w/ Poly clearance REQUIRED. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and may meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. Citizenship, for access to classified information. Education/Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in a technical/engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, or similar) with 10+ years of engineering experience; 7+ years with a Master’s Degree; preferred experience in ESS design build; experience with electronic security; Physical Security Professional (PSP) certification desired; experience leading large-scale design efforts. Other requirements: Familiarity with networking concepts (routing, switching, LAN/WAN, firewall configurations), ability to work in a fast-paced environment, effective communication with customers/vendors/peers, proficiency with AutoCAD or equivalent CAD tools, MS Office suite; knowledge of Pro Pricer and Eplan desired.
