Silvus is seeking a full-time

Senior Electronics Design Engineer

reporting to the

Engineering Manager, Product Design

on the Hardware Engineering team. The successful candidate will participate in the development of Silvus’ MANET radios and other advanced R&D projects with emphasis on Electronics Hardware/PCBA design. This position is hybrid with a minimum of 3 days onsite per week (Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays) at Silvus’ HQ in West Los Angeles, CA. Responsibilities

Component selection, schematic capture and PCB design of electrical systems based on an FPGA SoC with associated memory devices, transceivers, communication peripherals, and power management circuitry. Design high fidelity mixed-signal audio circuitry with excellent noise immunity. Follow best design practices to achieve successful mixed-signal PCB design. Define PCB stack-up, materials, and design rules to meet performance and manufacturing feasibility. Perform hardware bring-up, test, and root cause analysis on the bench using common lab equipment. Collaborate with PCB Designers, Software, FPGA, and RF teams for system-level implementation. Ensure designs do not produce EMI and are well isolated in high EMI environments. Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor. Required Qualifications

Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field. Six years of experience in mixed signal circuit design involving audio and SoCs. Demonstrated experience with complex mixed-signal PCB design and HDI routing. Experience with audio codecs and audio power amplifiers. Experience implementing digital communication peripherals at a hardware level, such as USB 3.0, 10Gb Ethernet and RS232. Strong familiarity with test equipment such as DMM, bench-top supply, oscilloscope, logic analyzer, and spectrum analyzer. Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field. Proven experience with Xilinx FPGAs, SoCs and the Vivado IDE. Experience with video codecs. Experience with Altium Designer. Knowledge of compliance standards such as FCC, CE Mark and MIL-STD-461. Experience with MATLAB, Python, and/or C. Ability to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment. Problem-solving, data analysis, deductive reasoning, and critical thinking skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

Lift up to 20 lbs. of equipment for demonstrations and testing. Occasional exposure to heat, cold, and allergens while performing tests or demonstrations in the field. Walking and moving in the labs. Compensation

The pay range is NOT a guarantee. It is based on market research and peer data, and will vary depending on the candidate’s experience and qualifications. CA Pay Range $120,000 - $180,000 USD Additional Information
