Transmission Planning & Studies Engineer - Senior Level. Location: Nationwide. Remote work allowed from a mutually acceptable location; candidates may work remotely full-time from non-designated POWER locations and may travel to POWER offices for periodic meetings. Apply via the link provided in the application notice. Power Engineers, Member of WSP, is seeking a Senior-level Transmission Planning Engineer. This position is posted in multiple POWER office locations with the ability to work remotely from a mutually acceptable location (please note in the application questions where you prefer to be located). Responsibilities

Lead and participate in network studies for utilities and ISOs, including development of computer-based models and performing power system studies on transmission & distribution systems and industrial/commercial electrical power systems.

Prepare feasibility studies, system impact studies, reactive compensation studies, critical clearing time, stability (transient & dynamic), long/short range planning studies, short circuit, load flow, interconnection model development, power factor correction, and related studies.

Engage in proposal writing and business development activities; interact with customers to develop new opportunities for POWER.

Self-manage time and demonstrate strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills to explain complex technical issues to decision-makers and project teams.

Required Education/Experience

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE).

Ten (10) or more years of experience in transmission planning system studies.

Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, including writing proposals and reports.

Minimum six (6) years of experience with PSS/E.

Professional Engineer (PE) registration or equivalent.

Experience leading projects and mentoring others.

Familiarity with ERCOT, its interconnection processes, and its system impact study requirements.

Willingness to travel (up to 10% at times).

Ability to work successfully in a customer-focused, project-oriented environment.

Desired Education/Experience

Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) or PhD.

Ten (10) or more years of experience with PSS/E.

Familiarity with additional RTOs regarding interconnection processes and system impact studies.

Experience with additional software: PSLF, TARA, PSCAD, Aspen Oneliner, ETAP, Power World, and others as applicable.

Coding experience and automation development.

Salary and Benefits

Base Salary Range: $119k - $237k per year. The range is posted to comply with state/local regulations and may vary based on experience, knowledge, and education. This does not include additional compensation such as bonuses, health benefits, 401(k) match, etc. Medical/Dental/Vision
