Overview
The role of the Safety Supervisor is to support the core values at Joseph J. Albanese with an emphasis on the protection of people, property and the environment. The position has the responsibility for the safety, health and environmental program both inside and outside the company.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The Safety Supervisor will provide EHS services for Joseph J. Albanese and be responsible for supporting the EHS program on the project job sites.
Understand government, company, and general contractor EHS requirements.
Ensure that all EHS requirements are met.
May conduct general training to project personnel on EHS subjects and provide techniques for mitigating hazards to Joseph J. Albanese employees during all aspects of demolition and construction.
Support cross-functional EHS teams, task forces, safety committees, and special projects as needed.
Specific Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability
Knowledge in the areas of incident investigation, root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of Microsoft suite programs including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
Self-motivation and multi-tasking abilities are skills necessary for success.
Qualifications & Experience
Knowledge of Cal/OSHA construction and general industry regulations is required.
Two to five years of professional safety experience in the construction industry with an emphasis in concrete formwork, general engineering, paving, concrete placement, reinforcing steel or public works.
Professional certification or ability to obtain professional certification is preferred or encouraged.
BA/BS degree in Occupational Safety and Health, related discipline or equivalent work experience.
Eligibility to drive a company vehicle per company insurance policy required.
Supervisory experience is desired.
