Risk Engineer, Property & Casualty

Chubb . The position supports Boston, MA underwriting operations and can be based anywhere in metro Boston or southeastern New England. The Risk Engineer operates within the Risk Consulting division as part of our value-added services for commercial insurance policyholders. The role reports to the Regional Risk Consulting Manager and directly supports the New England territory. Regular travel is sometimes required; the position may require overnight travel (approximately 2 nights per month). Outside of local/regional client engagement travel, this is a "work from home" position. We are seeking candidates with experience in the insurance, loss control, and/or safety industry. Responsibilities
Provide an understanding of a client's operations to the underwriting team; counsel clients on best practices related to employee safety, fleet, facility maintenance, business continuity, product safety, and related programs. Assist clients with identifying hazards within facilities and, where appropriate, provide recommendations for improved practices. Discuss and promote Chubb's risk consulting services to meet client needs and/or improve accounts loss history (e.g., business continuity planning, employee safety training, safety committee support, product safety review). Conduct on-site visits with existing and prospective customers; complete comprehensive reports evaluating hazards and controls for adequate risk selection, pricing, and underwriting technique application to drive profitable growth. Schedule client visits, process client correspondence and inquiries, complete reports, follow up on recommendations, and coordinate with claims and underwriting partners to exceed service expectations and support satisfactory risk selection and client retention. Qualifications
Five years or more of experience in property, casualty, and workers' compensation insurance risk management and loss prevention, focusing on evaluating hazards and controls Proficiency in hazard identification skills, emphasizing Property, General Liability, Products, & Workers' Compensation coverages Counseling and presenting to existing customers on safety-related topics Comprehensive understanding of exposures and safety controls for property, business interruption, product liability, workers' compensation, and commercial auto Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proficient interviewing techniques and technical report writing ability Initiative, time management, and ability to work independently and as part of a team Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat Prior experience in Casualty lines (GL, Products, WC) desirable; experience in clean tech and sustainable innovation preferred Education And Certification
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Safety & Health, or related risk control/loss control field Relevant professional designations or certifications such as ASP, CSP, CFPS, CIH, or ARM highly desirable About Us
