Brown and Caldwell (BC), a 100% employee-owned environmental engineering firm, has an opportunity for a self-motivated Senior Civil Engineer to join a growth-oriented professional consulting firm. This position oversees the design effort of site civil, grading and drainage, yard piping, and linear construction for water, wastewater, and stormwater projects of varying sizes and complexities. Projects include conventional design / bid / build and alternative delivery methods for municipal and industrial clients. The candidate will lead civil design teams and collaborate with other disciplines as needed, work effectively with local and virtual team members to meet scheduling and quality goals, and assist in civil discipline portions of business development, including scope and budget development.
Remote work is allowed from Central / Mountain / Pacific time zones; hybrid work is preferred and the ideal candidate will be located near an BC office in Texas (Houston or Dallas). Denver, Boise or Salt Lake City are also viable for hybrid work.
Responsibilities
Oversee the design effort of site civil, grading and drainage, yard piping, and linear construction for water, wastewater, and stormwater projects.
Lead civil design teams and collaborate with other discipline teams as needed.
Coordinate with local and virtual team members to achieve project schedules and quality goals.
Assist in civil discipline portions of business development, including scope and budget development.
Work on projects that include conventional and alternative delivery methods for municipal and industrial clients.
Contribute to development and updates of company standards.
Mentor and coach junior staff.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil / Environmental Engineering or related engineering field.
Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in municipal and / or industrial civil design in the water or wastewater sectors.
Professional Engineering license in the state of Texas, or the ability to obtain licensure through reciprocity.
Experience with local and regional permitting agencies to obtain site, zoning, stormwater, and related permits.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Bluebeam or Adobe Acrobat.
Strong ability to articulate ideas and concepts, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
15+ years of professional experience in municipal and / or industrial civil design in the water and / or wastewater sectors.
Basic knowledge of Civil 3D.
Experience using engineering calculation software (MathCAD).
Experience with hydrology and hydraulic calculations / modeling software (HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, Hydraflow Storm Sewers, etc.).
Field and construction experience.
GIS experience.
Salary and Location Salary Range:
The anticipated starting pay range is based on the employee’s primary work location and may be more or less depending on skills, experience, and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.
Location A : $106,000 – $145,000
Location B : $117,000 – $160,000
