Job Title: Director of Finance As the Director of Finance, you will lead the financial operations of a major hospital, managing a substantial budget. Your primary responsibilities will include budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning to enhance margins and support clinical departments such as laboratories and organ transplant services. You will supervise a small team, collaborate with other finance leaders, and report directly to the hospital's Chief Financial Officer. Responsibilities

Direct and coordinate the preparation of the operational budget, ensuring compliance with approved policies and guidelines. Oversee the hospital's operating budget, including annual fixed budget development, periodic forecast updates, and long-range strategic financial planning. Provide financial oversight and operations for Clinical Laboratories, including month-end close and reporting, budgeting, and contract analysis. Lead monthly measurement and tracking for initiatives within the margin improvement portfolio. Manage consolidated monthly reporting, including flash financial statements and variance analysis. Review and communicate cost structure changes for budgeting and cost accounting processes to the Decision Support team. Serve as a liaison with Corporate Finance and oversee ad-hoc financial analyses as needed. Act as the Finance Director for the Solid Organ Transplant service line. Essential Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration. Minimum of 7 years of progressive financial management experience, with at least 5 years in a hospital or healthcare system. Expertise in forecasting, budgeting, and cost analysis in healthcare settings. Proficiency with financial systems such as Epic, Oracle, and Strata Decision. Additional Skills & Qualifications

Master’s in Business Administration (MBA), Master’s in Health Administration (MHA), or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) strongly preferred. Familiarity with healthcare-specific tools and systems like EPSi and Kaufman Hall. Strong interpersonal and presentation skills. Experience in service line profitability analysis and clinical finance partnerships. The position offers a hybrid schedule, with most of the team working remotely. However, large meetings, ad hoc meetings with the CFO, presentations, and heavy work periods will require onsite presence. Candidates must be comfortable with a flexible schedule that may include early mornings, late nights, and occasional weekend work. Local candidates are preferred. This is a Permanent position based out of Durham, North Carolina. The pay range for this position is $108707.00 - $163060.00/yr. Competitive medical, dental, and vision plans are offered.
