We strive to be a place where all identities can thrive, embracing inclusion and individual skills, ideas, and knowledge. Position: Emergency Med Technician (EMT) – Part Time Responsibilities

Reports to work on time and in uniform with appropriate personal equipment. Swipes in and out in accordance with NYU policy. Respect and awareness of coworkers’ and patients’ cultural backgrounds. Assess patients’ ability to communicate in English and assist in providing an interpreter as needed. Assess patient condition and treat in accordance with NYS DOH and Regional Guidelines. Transport patient to appropriate hospital and transfer care to hospital staff, communicating patient’s condition and any treatment rendered. Complete an electronic Pre-Hospital Care Report (E-PCR) including insurance information and assignment of claim signature in accordance with NYU policies for every patient contact. Ensure all reports, forms, and logs are complete, accurate, legible, and neat prior to end of shift. Maintain uniform policy and professional appearance. Wear identification visible at all times. Notify RCC at the beginning of the shift and log onto the CAD system promptly. Monitor MDT and radio for assignments and communicate changes in signal status. Maintain professional radio decorum and comply with local radio protocol guidelines. Familiar with and comply with policies of the 911 System Provider Guide supplied to the employee. Follow NYU, FDNY, and NYS DOH guidelines for emergency vehicle operations. Check vehicle and equipment at shift start, replenish supplies, complete checklists, and ensure vehicle and equipment are clean, maintained, and refueled to meet NYS DOH part 800 compliance. Work as part of a team with partner and other providers on scene and at the hospital to provide high-quality care. Maintain professional relationships to facilitate patient care and cooperate with supervision to achieve department goals. Participate in Department, hospital, and regional Quality Improvement programs. Attend department meetings and training sessions. Maintain the ability and credentials to work in the NYC 911 system. Comply with scheduling procedures and availability submission. Minimize out-of-service time and document on Unit Activity Log with appropriate notifications. Drive an ambulance safely in both emergency and non-emergency modes throughout shift. Minimum Qualifications

To qualify you must have a High School Diploma or GED and completion of a New York State Department of Health approved EMT program. Six (6) months ambulance experience as an Emergency Medical Technician. Six (6) months 911 BLS experience preferred. Willingness to devote the time required to complete assigned tasks on schedule. Required Licenses/Certifications:

State EMT Card, Valid Driver License, Weapons of Mass Destruction Certificate (WMD), Haz-Mat Awareness Certificate, CEVO or EVOC Certificate.

Required Licenses:

Standardized Awareness Cert, Hazardous Materials Cert, Weapons Mass Destruction Cert, EMT - Cert, Driver's License. Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization. About NYU Langone Health
