An automotive company seeks Vehicle Parts Integration Engineers
in Plymouth, MI. Long-term temp status.
$42 – 50 per hour

Requirements of the
Automotive Design Release Engineer
:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related
At least 5 years of experience in automotive product design engineering or equivalent
Industry experience in automotive, commercial vehicle, industrial machinery, government defense, and/or aerospace
DFMEA, FTA, QC, GD&T and tolerance stack analysis
Experience using CAD/CAM; Siemens NX and TcAE or similar
Experience using Teamcenter to track drawings, components, and timelines
Experience with Red X and/or Six Sigma methodologies
Automotive parts knowledge for material selection (metal, plastic, textile), production processes, test methods, regulations, and vehicle integration of components/sub-systems
Familiarity with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) and Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE)/American Standard Test Method (ASTM)
Strong investigative and problem-solving skills
Good presentation and communication skills
Responsibilities of the
Automotive Design Release Engineer
:
Evaluates technical content, improves quality, reduces cost, makes effective decisions and meets schedules while considering all available alternatives
Coordinates assigned projects by maintaining schedules and milestones
Collaborate with overseas engineers, suppliers, production facilities, joint venture partners and other parties
Create SOR documents for suppliers
Consult with other departments to support collective objectives
Prepare various reports for management in both U.S. and Japan
Attend technical meetings at various sites
Conduct competitive engineering research
Evaluate engineering design drawings
Other related duties as assigned
