This position will be dedicated to the USPS EAP Program. The USPS Clinical Consultant will provide EAP services including short-term counseling/problem solving, educational and training activities, referral, monitoring, behavioral health consultation, critical incident response and follow-up. Services may be delivered in-person, by telephone, or via video. Note:
The position is hybrid and requires local travel and in-office time. The USPS office location is in Kent, WA. Consultation & Training : Provide consultation, training, and assistance to USPS and union leadership. Counseling & Coaching : Provide counseling and coaching through one-on-one interactions, in-person or telephonically. Crisis Response : Provide critical incident response and psychological first aid for events impacting the workforce. Who You Are
Required Qualifications
— This federally contracted role with the United States Postal Service has specific requirements, including: Ability to pass comprehensive background checks and assessments (detailed checks listed in original posting) Ability to undergo Public Trust background investigation and favorable adjudication US Citizenship for at least 5 years MVR (driving record) A master’s and/or doctorate in a clinical mental health field from an accredited institution Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience after graduate degree Current state license or certification to practice as a mental health practitioner in the practice state(s) Authority to practice independently without state-mandated supervision Ability to complete accurate bio-psychosocial assessments, including substance abuse assessments Specialized experience/training in phone and video counseling Knowledge of privacy, confidentiality, duty to warn, and abuse reporting requirements Confidentiality adherence and authorization for information disclosure when required Requires driving; active driver’s license and insurability Preferred Qualifications : CEAP certification or knowledge/experience in EAP practice Values alignment: compassion, empathy, accountability, adaptability, inclusion Self-motivated with leadership ability and strong organizational skills Ability to engage diverse individuals and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment Commitment to professional development and continuous learning Strong interpersonal and communication skills for diverse populations Working conditions: remote home-based with company equipment; quiet workspace and reliable high-speed internet (minimums: 20 Mbps download, 5 Mbps upload,
