Position Summary: This position is responsible for continuous observation of cardiac monitoring surveillance including identifying, interpreting, documenting, and reporting cardiac rhythms. Essential Functions include but are not limited to: Responsible for the continuous observation of patients' cardiac rhythm being transmitted remotely to the central monitoring station Responsible for continuous interpretation of normal and abnormal cardiac rhythms and events Responsible for recognizing and understanding the significance of alarms Immediately communicates life threatening changes in cardiac rhythms via hospital emergency system Compares and interprets current rhythm with previous monitoring and communicates changes as appropriate Completes accurate and timely documentation of rhythms, changes in rhythms and/or arrhythmias per policy Assists nursing personnel with troubleshooting and correcting equipment problems Informs and coordinates equipment repairs with Biomedical Department Maintains cleanliness of work area Promotes internal and external customer satisfaction Builds and promotes a culture of service excellence and continuous improvement Works as scheduled and is compliant with Attendance and Tardiness Policy Qualifications: Required: American Heart Association BLS; successful completion of Basic Dysrhythmia Course; successful demonstration of rhythm strip competency and test Preferred: Previous experience or education of arrhythmia interpretation Grow your career where your work truly mattersat Parkland Medical Center.
