COLLECTIONS ANALYST – MANAGED RESOURCES
Full-Time | Remote
Pay Range: $22-$26
Job Overview/Purpose:
The Collections Analyst is responsible for the follow-up and collection of unpaid or underpaid hospital balances on assigned accounts for multiple facilities. They verify billing information and perform collection calls to insurance companies and/or patients on behalf of our clients. Collections Analyst will accurately and completely log all pertinent information in the company and/or facility system to enable follow-up as necessary.

DESCRIPTION:
Insurance follow-up on accounts for both inpatient and outpatient claims. Completes collection efforts on denials and underpayments through phone calls and/or submission of appeal letters to responsible payers on assigned inventory. Review remittance advice and/or EOB’s to verify proper reimbursement. Analyze collection processes to recommend improvements. Print and ensure patient hospital records include all information required for reimbursement. Verify billing information for electronic claims transmission and hard copy billing. Handle the billing, collections, denials and appeals for multiple payers. Provide administrative support to improve efficiency. Determine required payment dates and coordinate with project managers to resolve all collection issues and reconcile all unapplied cash accounts. Ensures documentation on client managed care claim accounts is complete, thorough, concise, and accurate. Promptly process all incoming paperwork (such as payer correspondence, medical records, payer contracts, UB, etc.) Identify, report, and resolve any claim problems and/or trends to management. Submit appropriate and accurate adjustments according to client requirements. Work in collaboration with the managed care team to reach monthly collection goals. Serve as an employee absence back up.
QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum three years’ experience as a Medical or Healthcare collector Medical Terminology knowledge is needed. Use time management, prioritization, and task management skills when required. Have strong oral, writing, and proofreading skills. Meet deadlines, quality and production standards established through monthly audits. Interpret payer contract terms in Ex. (Stop Loss, per diem, case rate, carve out clauses, etc.) High Attention to detail
