Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented, analytically strong Financial Merchandising Analyst to translate financial targets and merchandising strategies into actionable sales plans for our direct retail and online channels. This role is pivotal in supporting inventory flow, category and channel-specific assortment execution, and in-season adjustments. The ideal candidate thrives on data, enjoys cross-functional collaboration, and is passionate about driving business results through financial insight and merchandising excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Financial to Execution Translation
Translate seasonal financial plans and assortment strategies into detailed sales plans at the category and channel level for stores and eCommerce
Collaborate with Planning and Allocation teams to ensure inventory levels and flow align with category and channel merchandising goals
Support go-to-market readiness by providing clear, actionable item-level direction tailored for owned channels by category and channel
Monitor and analyze in-season performance at the category and channel level to identify risks and opportunities for course correction
Data & Performance Analysis
Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using SAP, Oracle, and Power BI to track KPIs, sales trends, and inventory health across categories and channels
Provide advanced Excel modeling and analysis to support sales forecasting, margin optimization, and promotional effectiveness by category and channel
Prepare and present data-driven insights to cross-functional teams to influence merchandising decisions specific to category and channel dynamics
Cross-Functional Partnership
Serve as a key liaison between Finance, Planning, and Allocation teams to ensure alignment of financial targets and inventory strategies at the category and channel level
Collaborate with Merchandising, Retail, and Ecommerce to drive cohesive execution of sales plans and optimize category and channel performance
Key Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Merchandising, or related field
2–5 years of experience in merchandising analytics, retail planning, or financial analysis, preferably within specialty retail
Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, complex formulas, modeling) is a must
Hands-on experience with SAP, Oracle, and Power BI is required
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable plans
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams
Detail-oriented and highly organized, capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

The Connecticut base pay range for this position is from $70,200 - $87,800. Salary will be based on prior experience related to the skills required for this position.
