Mental/Behavioral Health Technician
Provo Canyon School, located in Springville, UT, is a 24/7 secure behavioral health treatment center for adolescents aged 13 through 17. We coach, teach and mentor students who have psychiatric disorders. Our goal is to provide treatment that results in positive changes, allowing these youth to return to their families and communities. Your position objectives include: You will serve as a positive role model for students while providing close supervision and documenting your observations. You must be a team player and recognize the importance of this position to positive student outcomes. You will support that students are meeting defined daily goals, including hygiene, unit activities, education & therapy meetings. You will confidently intervene during student crisis by using verbal de-escalation skills and other personal safety techniques that you will be trained in. You will use positive verbal skills and coaching to educate students on appropriate behavior and possible outcomes.
