Overview

This is a dual engagement opportunity that can be fulfilled as a W-2 employee or as a 1099 independent contractor. Apply to indicate your preferred engagement type. The role involves co-occurring disorder counseling with outpatient focus, across multiple organization programs as described below. Division: Operations. Unit: n/a. Accountable to: Operations Manager 2. Client Service Location & Caseload

Most assigned clients reside in community-based group homes. Services may be provided at the community-based office, the company’s main office, or via telehealth at approved sites during the service. Caseload includes: 9 Category A clients serviced in the community meeting room at 819 N Fremont Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21217; other Category A clients serviced in the community or at 3310 Eastern Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21224. Engagement Options

Option 1: 1099 Independent Contractor

– Co-Occurring Disorder Counselor, Contract Position (1099), Fee-for-service. Multi-entity role across Lighthouse Behavioral Health Center and Community Wellness Outpatient Mental Health Center. Independent contractor agreements with each entity; separate invoicing and compensation. Approximately 40 hours/week scheduled over 5 days, with about half the time for each organization. Taxes, benefits, and liability coverage are the contractor’s responsibility. Overview:

Clients reside in community-based settings or at one of the approved sites. The contractor schedules and facilitates group and individual counseling, conducts assessments, and completes client documentation within the service period. Scope of Work & Accountabilities:

Deliver outpatient substance use disorder treatment services for co-occurring disorders; maintain evidence-based practice fidelity and timely documentation; coordinate care across programs; adhere to licensing and regulatory requirements. Documentation & Schedule:

ICANotes documentation, monthly treatment plan reviews, initial and periodic assessments, and monthly invoicing. Work hours approximately 40 per week across two entities; central scheduling; each entity maintains its own compliance and payment processes. Licensing:

Maryland licensure required (see Qualifications). Overview – Focus #1:

Credentialing for outpatient substance use disorder treatment under Lighthouse Behavioral Health Center and CWOMHC as outlined. Overview – Focus #2:

Credentialing for outpatient mental health disorder treatment under CWOMHC as outlined. Option 2: W-2 Employment

Option 2:

Co-Occurring Disorder Counselor employed across three organizations (CWOMHC, Lighthouse Behavioral Health Center, Community Wellness Outpatient Mental Health Center). You will maintain separate W-2 employment relationships with each organization; payroll compensation from each entity based on time and services. Division: Operations. Unit: n/a. Classification: Full-time, 40 hours/week across the organizations. Accountable to: Operations Manager 2. Benefits & Schedule

4–5 eight-hour days per week, typically Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM. Compensation:

For W-2 option, fee-for-service within a range (example: 167,560 to 50,000 per year; actual amount commensurate with credentials and experience). Anticipated Travel:

Up to 10% of the time (interoffice and site-based). Work Conditions:

Community-based offices or hybrid settings; potential exposure to emotional/crisis situations; collaborative, team-oriented clinical environment. Qualifications & Licensing

Must hold valid Maryland licensure in one of the following: LCADC, LGADC, CAC-AD, CSCAD, ADT, LCPC, LGPC, LCSW-C, LCSW, LMSW, LBSW, LCMFT, LGMF, Licensed Psychologist, Registered Psychology Associate, CRNP-PMH, APRN-PMH, CNS-PMH, or a student intern in one of these disciplines. Education: At least a Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related field (Master’s preferred). Required Competencies

Experience with dual diagnosis or high-acuity populations preferred; background checks required; familiarity with Medicaid documentation, CARF standards, and trauma-informed care; knowledge of DSM-5-TR; strong documentation and clinical billing proficiency; excellent communication; team-oriented with ability to work independently; commitment to equity and culturally responsive care. Documentation & Compliance

Maintain timely documentation, contribute to fidelity reviews, clinical audits, and supervision; track outcomes and client satisfaction; complete required trainings and CEUs; comply with COMAR, CARF, CSA, and related policies; ensure visits are documented in ICANotes per service window; include example codes for relevant service notes as applicable.
