Job title - Java AWS Developer & service virtualization

Role Summary: We are seeking an experienced Java Developer with strong expertise in Apache Kafka and Service Virtualization to join a high-performing technology team at one of the top banking institutions in the U.S. The role involves building scalable microservices, integrating real-time data pipelines, and simulating service dependencies for robust testing and faster delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture. Implement Kafka-based messaging and stream processing for real-time data integration. Apply Service Virtualization techniques to simulate APIs, databases, and third-party services for testing and development. Collaborate with QA, DevOps, and business teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery. Build and consume RESTful APIs, ensuring performance, scalability, and security. Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and retrospectives. Maintain CI/CD pipelines and automate testing using tools like JUnit, Mockito, and Jenkins.
Required Skills & Experience:
8+ years of hands-on experience in Java/J2EE development. Strong proficiency in Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and REST API development. 3+ years of experience with Apache Kafka for distributed messaging and stream processing. Proven experience with Service Virtualization tools (e.g., WireMock, Parasoft, CA Service Virtualization, or Mountebank). Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes). Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB). Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and DevOps practices. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in banking or financial services domain. Exposure to AWS cloud services (EKS, S3, MSK, IAM, CloudWatch). Knowledge of AI/ML integration and event-driven architecture. Experience with performance tuning and security best practices.
