Company: Monro. Destination Monro – Your Career is Here! About The Role: The General Service Technician is a full-time or part-time hourly position. The technician performs basic routine vehicle repair and maintenance services in accordance with company standards and manufacturer specifications. This role delivers exceptional 5 Star service to guests, communicating vehicle issues and proposed solutions while meeting time and quality expectations. Responsibilities
Accurately perform basic vehicle services and repairs in accordance with Monro standards of operation. Tire Services – wheel removal, balancing, patch/plug repairs, changing, mounting, installation and TPMS service. Vehicle Services – lubrications, oil changes, basic maintenance (e.g., bulb, wiper blade and filter replacements), battery testing and installations. Perform Monro’s Courtesy Inspection on every guest vehicle, identifying, documenting, and communicating additional needed services. Assist in inventory management, including pulling tires and parts, unloading and stocking inventory. Assist with general store duties ensuring cleanliness and guest-ready condition. Adhere to Monro safety standards (Wheel Torque, oil safety, and related procedures). Test drive vehicles per Monro’s policy using dedicated test drive routes while obeying traffic and safety laws. Understand and adhere to company policies, governmental standards (environmental, ANSI/OSHA), and safety training. Maintain technical knowledge by completing Monro University training modules. Operate and maintain equipment (lifts, welders, brake lathes, etc.) safely per guidelines. Perform other duties as assigned. Compensation
The hourly range for this role is $17–$22. This role is eligible for additional compensation and incentives. Pay will be determined based on experience. Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent. Automotive training or equivalent combination of education and experience in basic car maintenance and repair. Must possess a valid driver’s license and have a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report, with ability to operate customer vehicles for test drives. Own a basic set of tools or participate in Monro’s tool purchase program. Profile Summary: Ability to identify problems, collect data, and make practical decisions with solutions. Strong customer service skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey technical issues and write routine reports. Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Automotive shop environment with exposure to moderate noise, adverse weather, chemicals, odors, dirt, and dust. Must be able to: Work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays. See and lift/carry stock up to 50 lbs. without assistance. Stand and walk for extended periods; reach overhead and below the knees; squat, bend, stoop, kneel, twist as needed. Benefits
