Overview
WSP is looking for a Senior Remediation Engineer for our Rancho Cordova, CA office. The candidate will have experience in consulting, selling, managing, designing and implementing environmental multi-media remediation programs for clients in the Industrial, Government, Energy, Oil & Gas and Transportation sectors. The role supports expanding WSP’s environmental consulting business in California and the West. WSP’s California offices provide services in environmental assessment and remediation, water/wastewater engineering, water resources, environmental compliance, geotechnical design, stormwater infrastructure design, materials testing, and decision analysis. Responsibilities
Perform business development within the Oil & Gas and Industrial/Commercial sectors for environmental remediation, engineering and related services Provide oversight, mentorship, and direct the efforts of staff- and project-level engineers and scientists Assist in the preparation of technical reports and proposals Interact with Local Business Leader, Office Manager, Sector Lead, and other senior-level employees Manage multiple projects, ensuring deliverables, schedules, and budgets are achieved Travel to project sites as needed to execute project goals and support business development Meet sales, revenue, and delivery goals Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Chemical, Environmental or related engineering discipline 5-7 years of related environmental remediation and sales experience Strong work ethic; self-starter, team-oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to mentor and direct engineers and technicians Experience with CERCLA, RCRA, DTSC, Water Board and other CalEPA programs Consulting experience with petroleum-contamination cleanups in soil and groundwater (including LNAPL) and/or chlorinated solvent contamination remediation Experience in soil gas and vapor intrusion issues Developing and managing complex environmental remediation projects Overseeing remediation construction and operation and maintenance of environmental project work Must pass physical, background check and have a valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record Must be able to pass HAZWOPER physical and wear a tight-fitting respirator / Fit for Duty Exam Must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening Subject to client-mandated drug/alcohol testing policy Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree is preferred California Civil Professional Engineer (PE) registration 40-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER training (29 CFR 1910.120) preferred Basic First Aid and Adult CPR training desired Compensation & Benefits
