Arc is building 100% electric boats from the ground up. We're rethinking every detail on the boat — from propulsion and powertrain to software and ownership model — applying first-principles engineering from aerospace and EVs to deliver a better boating experience. We're looking for someone who's fired up by our mission and ready to build. You'll thrive here if you adapt quickly, take ownership, and care about the details. This is a full-time, on-site role at our Los Angeles headquarters. You'll report to the Director of Hardware Engineering and work closely with a lean, high-trust team where everyone's work matters. Core responsibilities: Leading, mentoring, and growing a high-performing electrical engineering team, providing technical guidance and career development support. Overseeing vehicle-level electrical integrations from prototype through production, ensuring design quality, safety, and reliability. Providing hands-on technical leadership when needed, guiding debugging, validation, and problem-solving across both high- and low-voltage systems. Driving the development and enhancement of electrical test systems and ensure feature parity between bench systems and production environments. Owning and improving the functional specification, review, and validation processes to align with software and controls development. Establishing best practices for harness design, manufacturability, and installation, ensuring scalability for production. Partnering with manufacturing teams in production, resolving electrical build issues and implementing design improvements for quality and ease of assembly. Collaborating with service teams to proactively triage electrical faults, define service actions, and ensure high uptime across the fleet. Providing executive-level updates on team progress, risks, and mitigation strategies. Supporting hardware design and development of automated production testing systems to increase efficiency and reliability at scale. Contributing to roadmap planning for future vehicle programs, identifying technical risks, staffing needs, and opportunities for innovation. Basic Qualifications 3+ years of hands-on experience in electrical engineering and production environments with a strong ability to guide and support engineers in troubleshooting and development. 1+ years of proven experience leading and managing electrical engineering teams, including mentorship, performance management, and hiring. Demonstrated history with performing electrical component trades and hardware selection. Deep expertise in harness design processes, CAD routing, schematic and formboard creation, and improving manufacturability and install. Strong understanding of automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet, etc.) and electrical engineering fundamentals. Familiarity with MATLAB/Simulink, oscilloscopes, and other specialized diagnostic tools. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with a proven ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders. Bonus Qualifications 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing setting. 3+ years of experience managing technical teams. Experience working in marine, automotive, aerospace, or other regulated industries; familiarity with ISO or IEC standards. Experience with high voltage, electric vehicles and battery pack design. Background in PCB design, schematic capture, and layout tools. Understanding of firmware development and integration for electrical systems. Knowledge of Linux and embedded systems for testing and diagnostics. Strong organizational skills with the ability to set technical direction while driving execution at a fast, sustainable pace. Enthusiasm for boating and the water. Comfortable pushing a fast but sustainable pace. At Arc, we encourage diversity and consider all qualified applicants equally for employment, regardless of background, identity, or status. Our values: Ownership
