HEN Technologies
Overview
HEN Technologies is a purpose-driven organization pioneering the development of advanced tools for firefighting in both wildland and structural applications. Utilizing principles of fluid dynamics and thermal science, we have designed a range of products poised to redefine fire suppression techniques. Our dedication to innovation has earned recognition and support from the National Science Foundation. Role Description HEN is constantly innovating new products to revolutionize the firefighting industry, and we’re seeking a Sr Reliability Engineer to join our small but growing product development team. As HEN expands its product portfolio, we’re looking for someone with a diverse skill set spanning mechanical design validation, verification and reliability testing, test setup and execution, and familiarity with electro-mechanical systems. You will concentrate on defining test protocols, developing and executing those tests with a hands-on approach requiring close collaboration with mechanical and electrical resources to build out test equipment. You will be influential throughout the design cycle to ensure product reliability. You’ll leverage in-house and external testing capabilities to validate our products against expected lifetime metrics. A bias to action and proficiency in test design and execution will help you thrive in this role. Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement quality and reliability plans, procedures, and metrics. Analyze product designs and manufacturing processes to identify potential failure modes (e.g., FMEA, DFMEA, PFMEA). Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for product failures or quality issues. Conduct reliability testing (e.g., HALT, HASS, lifecycle testing) and analyze data to improve product durability and performance. Collaborate with R&D, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams to drive design for reliability and manufacturability (DFR, DFM). Prepare quality documentation and reports, including quality KPIs, reliability metrics, and test summaries. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field). 5+ years of experience in reliability engineering, preferably in a manufacturing or product development environment. Working knowledge of failure analysis techniques such as SEM, CT, X-Ray, EDS, TDR. Experience with instrumentation for data collection and testing such as thermocouples, strain gauges, accelerometers. Familiarity with reliability analysis techniques (Weibull, MTBF, RCM). Proficiency with data analysis and statistical software (Minitab, JMP, Excel). Hands-on experience with root cause analysis tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone, or Fault Tree Analysis (FTA). Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills. Experience with deploying reliability testing guidelines and inventing new ways of testing. Certification such as CRE (Certified Reliability Engineer) is a plus. Strong knowledge of quality tools and methodologies (Six Sigma, 8D, FMEA, DOE, etc.). Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment. Compensation
Base Salary range for this role will be $140k to $175k + equity + benefits. Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience.
