Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Opto-Mechanical Engineer in Boulder, CO. Summary: As a Senior Opto-Mechanical Engineer, you'll lead the design, analysis, and testing of precision optical assemblies used in cutting-edge AR devices.
This hands-on role involves developing custom tools and fixtures, producing compliant technical drawings, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring complex opto-mechanical concepts to life. You'll work onsite in Boulder to support prototype development and early-stage product testing in a dynamic R&D environment.
Responsibilities
The Senior Opto-Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for leading the design, analysis, and testing of precision optical assemblies used in cutting-edge AR devices. Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with 5+ years of experience in opto-mechanical system design Strong hands-on experience with precision mechatronics, GD&T, and tolerance stack analysis Experience in optical alignment principles, kinematic constraint, and thermal management in device design Familiarity with metrology tools like CMMs, OCMMs, or surface measurement instruments Proficiency in 3D CAD tools (CREO) and design documentation standards (ASME Y14.5/ISO GPS) Comfortable working with statistical tools (e.g., JMP) and collaboration platforms (Jira, Confluence) Strong communication and collaboration skills across engineering disciplines What We Offer
