Job Description:
Pay Range: $47.77hr - $59.17hr
The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for developing and continuously improving test and calibration equipment for high-performance endoscopes, laser systems, LED optical systems, and near-eye optical display systems for mid-volume products. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure the design, development, and implementation of reliable, accurate, and reproducible test equipment. Responsibilities:
Design, specify, prototype, document, procure, assemble, qualify, implement, and improve mechanical components and test equipment. Collaborate with product development, test software, and process development teams to understand mechanical requirements and develop robust solutions. Generate and maintain documentation, including equipment specifications, validation protocols, assembly instructions, preventative maintenance, calibration (PMC), and CAD drawings. Analyze, debug, and root cause issues related to equipment measurement accuracy, reliability, repeatability, and reproducibility. Requirement/Must Have:
2–4 years of mechanical or equipment design engineering experience for medium to high-volume products. Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate and improve measurement equipment performance. Excellent communication and documentation skills. CAD experience (SolidWorks). Should Have:
Experience with precision opto-mechanical test equipment development. Experience with new product introduction/development. Qualification And Education:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Opto-Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
