Manager Embedded Software Engineer 2 – San Diego, CA. Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is a trusted provider of mission-enabling solutions for global security. We seek a technically capable Embedded Software Engineering Manager to lead a section of 10-15 software engineers and managers within the San Diego Engineering and Sciences Software and Digital Technologies department. What You'll Get To Do

The embedded SW engineering manager will lead direct report employees based on organizational goals, program activity, and company policies. Responsibilities include coordinating with programs for staffing, recruiting, training, delivering performance reviews, evaluating promotions, salary planning, and providing career guidance. You will also act as a technical performer, dedicating about 80% of time on programs involving communications systems within our F-35, F-22, CNI Production, Advanced Communications, or Small Forms Factors operating units. You will support and be accountable for goals including: Cultivate an inclusive and engaging workplace and ensure work-life balance. Maintain adequate staffing to execute program plans and support strategic growth, while offering growth opportunities for team members. Engage in ongoing performance management, identify growth opportunities and training needs, and manage compensation and career progression in alignment with the Enterprise review cycle. Support the creation, updating, and maintenance of software engineering processes. Basic Qualifications

BS with 8+ years of experience in a related STEM field; MS with 6+ years of experience. Experience as a functional manager or technical team leader. Proficiency in C/C++, object-oriented programming, and software lifecycle processes. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and in teams. Ability to facilitate/mediate conflict resolution. Active Secret Clearance. On-site work requirement at the Rancho Carmel facility. Preferred Qualifications

MS in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field with 8+ years of technical experience. Experience managing managers. Direct program duties within the Communications Solutions Business Unit (e.g., F-22, F-35, CNI, Advanced Communications). Experience integrating low-level firmware and software in complex real-time multi-threaded embedded applications. RTOS designs and secure software development for embedded systems. ARM architecture and peripherals experience, Jira/Bitbucket/Git, and Agile processes. Knowledge of communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, PCIe, Ethernet), networking (IPSec, TLS), TCP/IP, and cryptographic libraries (wolfSSL). Linux kernel driver development/modifications, assembly language, bare metal embedded device drivers, PowerPC architectures. Familiarity with VHDL/Verilog/FPGA, Xilinx tools (Vitis, Vivado), IBM tools (Rhapsody, DOORS, Clearcase), Green Hills AdaMulti, static analysis, and unit testing. DOD Top Secret and SAR clearance preferred. Salary: Primary Level Salary Range: $156,500.00 - $234,700.00. Additional compensation opportunities may include overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonuses, and long-term incentives where applicable.
