Lumentum is an Equal Opportunity Employer, EOE/Minorities/Females/Veterans/Individuals with Disability Lumentum is seeking a bright, motivated individual to contribute to the development of highly-innovative and market-leading high power distributed feedback (DFB) semiconductor lasers for telecom, industrial and consumer applications. Key Responsibilities: Develop a variety of high power DFB semiconductor lasers Key contributor in conception, planning, design and qualification phases of development projects Design of epitaxial structures, device geometries, and wafer fab processes to achieve electro-optical performance that meets or exceeds specification with production yields suitable for volume manufacturing Photolithographic mask design and layout Test and characterization of prototypes, data analysis, establishing correlation between structure/ process parameters and device performance Participating on cross-functional teams comprised of growth, process and assembly engineers Key Requirements and Skills: PhD degree 5+ years of experience in optoelectronic device development Detailed, hands-on knowledge in the following areas: optoelectronic device physics, device modeling and simulation, epitaxial growth, III-V semiconductor processing and electro-optical device characterization History of successful innovative projects in designing laser diodes or similar optoelectronic devices Creativity, problem-solving, overcoming technical challenges by extending technical knowledge, developing new concepts and inventions Knowledge of distributed feedback laser diode design in InP-based material system Pay Range: P70-USA-1 :$130,850.00 - $186,900.00
