Process Technicians function as the primary interface between the manufacturing, maintenance, and process and equipment engineering teams to ensure the consistent production of high-quality wafers. Process Technicians are responsible for monitoring the performance of tooling used in the manufacturing process and for helping to identify processing issues affecting output or product quality. Process Technicians are also responsible for the cycle time within their area and must resolve any WIP that is delayed or on hold. In addition, Process Technicians are often directly involved in the resolution of tooling or processing issues and may recommend, document and implement changes at the direction of the appropriate engineering group. Process Technicians also play a vital role in the training and certification of lower-level operators. Qualifications

Knowledge and familiarity of semiconductor wafer manufacturing processes (thin film deposition, ion mill, reactive ion etch, electroplating, photolithography, metrology, sputter etch, sputter deposition) and logistics Knowledge of Statistical Process Control systems, applications and rules Knowledge of MESA or similar Shop floor Control Systems Able to extract, summarize, interpret and present process data Able to apply process data to decision making Knowledge and familiarity of Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing Principles and DMAIC processes Proficiency or experience with SQL or similar query Proficiency or experience with VBA, Excel, and PowerPoint Experience with Project Management applications Leadership qualities and experience History of problem solving; able to drive problems to resolution Excellent communication skills, verbal and written Education

The salary range is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of posting. We may pay more or less than the posted range and this range is applicable for jobs in California, Colorado, New York or remote roles that can be performed in these states. The range may be modified in the future. If your position is non-exempt, you are eligible for overtime pay pursuant to company policy and applicable laws. You may also be eligible for shift differential pay, depending on the shift to which you are assigned. You may be eligible for bonuses under Western Digital’s Short Term Incentive Plan or the Sales Incentive Plan based on company and individual performance. Some roles may be eligible for the Long-Term Incentive program, including restricted stock units.
