LVT is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to join the team at our American Fork HQ and Spanish Fork MFG facilities. Here you will work on core product development for AI/ML enabled security solutions and complex systems, including but not limited to optical pan/tilt cameras, batteries, solar power, edge computing, IO, microcontrollers, sensors and payloads. The role requires high ownership and frequent collaboration with other core disciplines. The ideal candidate would be practical, hands-on and a self starter. High growth potential is possible as well as additional leadership opportunities. Responsibilities
Rapid, full cycle PCB design including collecting requirements, schematic design, component selection, supervision or completion of layout, bring-up, test, debug and integration with the system. Identify partners in industry to engage with, and manage early vendor relationships Development of commercial security electrical systems (edge compute, IO, microprocessors, cameras, sensors, payload interfaces, power management, and networking) Develop system interconnect diagrams and define wire harnesses that connect electronic equipment within the unit. Provide support and collaborate within system development constraints Vendor management, including surveys and evaluation to support sourcing for compute and electronic system components. Conduct peer-level and cross-discipline design reviews Ensure that designs meet regulatory requirements (FCC Part-15, UL, IEC, etc.) Build up and test of electronic system components through lab, and field tests Low level firmware development for bring-up and test Root cause analysis in support of field operations Qualifications
Demonstrated experience developing complex embedded products (consumer electronics, IOT, drones, camera systems, industrial automation, etc.) Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, with 10+ years of experience designing, testing, and troubleshooting complex board designs Competence with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, thermal chambers, current-probes, and automation of tests. Familiarity with standard interfaces such as Ethernet, CAN, I2C, SPI, PCIe, USB, MIPI-CSI, etc. Familiarity with common MCU, CPU, GPU devices and technologies. Knowledge of modern analog and digital electronics and electronic circuits. Comfortable with a variety of electronic CAD tools (Altium preferred, Eagle and others acceptable) Experience in design for signal integrity / power integrity RF experience with amplifiers, antenna design and validation.
