General Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated
Custom Design Engineer
to join our Custom Solutions Team (CST). This role is focused on researching, architecting, and productizing
end-to-end custom silicon solutions
for SOC design, spanning from RTL design through physical implementation to GDSII tapeout. These solutions are targeted for advanced AI and high-performance computing chips. The ideal candidate will have a passion for innovation and efficiency in advanced semiconductor technologies and be open to tasks spanning digital design, physical design, transistor level optimization, and automation.
Key Responsibilities:
Architect and implement custom silicon solutions from RTL to GDS, optimizing for performance, power, and area (PPA).
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including various processor core teams, physical design teams, and verification teams to deliver high-quality solutions and IPs.
RTL design and IP development, to ensure alignment with system requirements and design specifications.
Physical design activities including synthesis, floorplanning, placement, routing, timing closure, and DRC/LVS verification.
Evaluate and integrate EDA tools and flows to improve design productivity and quality.
Research and prototype novel design methodologies to enable scalable and efficient custom silicon development.
Support design bring-up and validation, working closely with post-silicon and test teams.
Contribute to technical documentation, design reviews, and continuous improvement of design processes.
Required for the Role:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
1-5 years of experience in ASIC/SoC design, with hands-on expertise in some of these areas: RTL, Synthesis, Place & Route, Timing closure, DFT, circuit design, Design Verification, Automation.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills. Open to learning new skills under guidance. Understanding on performance and power optimization.
Exposure to industry standard CAD tools and design flows (e.g., Synopsys, Cadence, Mentor).
Understanding of semiconductor device physics and process technology.
Preferred Qualifications:
Process variation awareness and statistical understanding
Contributions to silicon products that have been successfully taped out and brought to market.

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:
$140,000.00 - $210,000.00
The above pay range reflects the broad minimum to maximum for this job code and location. Salary is one component of total compensation, which may include annual discretionary bonus and RSU grants.
