The Women’s Technical Designer will report to the Sr. Technical Designer for Women’s and work with the Merchandising, Design & Product Development/Production Teams to facilitate the technical execution of products in all categories for multiple seasons, ensuring the accuracy of product measurements, quality, and construction. The ideal candidate has an eye for contemporary design & fit, attention to detail, and experience building performance apparel to optimize consistent fit, form, and function. They are a strong communicator and collaborative. Key Responsibilities
Partner with Merchandising, Design and Product Development Teams to ensure excellence, attention to detail and accuracy in the creation of all new styles Create and update tech packs (TPs) in conjunction with Design - including measurements, construction and grading - using Illustrator, Excel and Rhone’s PLM tools with overall quality top of mind Work independently on styles, starting from initial pass-off through production, reviewing all samples to communicate accurate revisions Participation in daily tasks, including but not limited to measuring garments, leading and assisting in fittings, and sending fit comments to overseas vendors with an attention to detail in construction and workmanship Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve in a fast paced environment Communicate with the Design/ PD Team to call out issues that may prevent timely fit and quality approval that impact deliveries Work with overseas supplier specialists to resolve issues Track Proto & PP Samples, and communicate delays with/ the necessary teams Organize Proto to PPS samples, and maintain accurate style history Perform other technical design related duties, as needed Open and available for the opportunity to travel to overseas suppliers Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience 5+ years of technical design experience; a basic understanding of pattern-making, digital pattern-making; 3-D experience a plus Women’s Active and Lifestyle Products experience preferred Demonstrate a strong command of garment construction, in applying industry standard finishings and methods of assembly Strong computer skills including experience with PLM (Centric is a plus), Adobe Suite (especially Illustrator), Google Workspace, and Microsoft Suite (especially Excel) Quickly adapt to new information and set priorities based on insights Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational and time management skills with meticulous attention to detail Proven ability to handle a large volume of styles while meeting deadlines Ability to participate in weekly AM/PM calls to Suppliers Travel - domestic to DC and International What you’ll get
