Inter-Island Solar Supply is seeking a dedicated and experienced Sales Engineer to lead sales efforts for our portfolio of high-efficiency pumps, booster pack systems, and commercial hot water solutions. This role blends technical expertise with strategic sales acumen to deliver energy-efficient water system solutions across commercial, industrial, and institutional markets. Salary:

Sales & Business Development: Drive sales growth by identifying and developing new opportunities in all commercial buildings and sectors including hospitality, healthcare, and institutional settings. Build and maintain strong relationships with mechanical contractors, consulting engineers, facility managers, and distributors. Prepare and present customized proposals and technical solutions that align with customer needs and project specifications. Interpret engineering documents, read and analyze mechanical drawings, specifications, and submittals to determine scope of work, materials, and balancing outflow of material and labor requirements to provide accurate sales proposals. Technical Consultation: Provide expert guidance on pump selection, booster system design, and hot water system sizing and integration. Collaborate with engineering and product teams to develop tailored solutions for complex applications. Stay current on product innovations, energy efficiency standards, and system optimization strategies. Conduct site visits, system audits, and technical presentations to support sales and ensure customer satisfaction. Offer pre- and post-sales support including troubleshooting, commissioning, and training. Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, helping them achieve performance, sustainability, and cost-saving goals. Monitor industry trends, competitive offerings, and regulatory developments related to water heating and pumping systems. Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and technical seminars. Develop and implement strategies to meet or exceed financial targets. Key Account Relationship Management: Maintain and strengthen relationships with key customers. Review weekly sales history and customer ranking reports to determine communication strategies and sales focus. Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through proactive communication and support. Technical Support Facilitation: Coordinate technical support for customers, ensuring they receive accurate and timely assistance. Stay informed about industry trends, product updates, and best practices to provide informed guidance. Job Details

3+ years of experience in technical sales, preferably in pumps, water heating systems, or HVAC Strong understanding of fluid dynamics, energy efficiency, and system integration Experience with commercial hot water systems including tankless, storage, and recirculation systems Familiarity with LEED, ASHRAE, and other energy efficiency standards Knowledge of pump selection software and hydronic system design tools Understanding of plumbing codes and commercial building requirements Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills Proficiency in CRM platforms and Microsoft Office Suite Willingness to travel within all islands in Hawaii Ability to work independently, anticipate needs, and efficiently prioritize multiple tasks Valid driver license Excellent organizational and time management skills Analytical abilities and aptitude in problem-solving Excellent written and verbal communication skills Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) At least three years related experience required Physical Requirements
