Overview
Mechanical General Superintendent (Solar EPC) – Lead and train construction systems, processes and consistent construction methods for the renewable energy business unit. Serve as supervisor and Subject Matter Expert (SME) during phases of engineering, planning, start-up, construction and closeout of utility-scale solar projects. Lead the organization in developing safe, quality and efficient construction methods, training project supervision to standards and ensuring consistent project delivery. Demonstrate innovation and entrepreneurial spirit in developing company delivery methods that are safe, high quality, efficient and effectively implemented. Must have a diverse background of construction methods across multiple industries, the ability to listen, and the ability to build relationships with project supervision and construction teams. This position is remote-based with the ability to travel and work on projects weekly. Responsibilities
Establish and sustain a safety culture on each project; validate the safety program is adhered to onsite and provide additional training as needed. Ensure Superintendents adhere to design, construction specifications and methods to produce a quality product. Support and establish Solar Best Methods during planning and construction; collaborate with Superintendents to refine crews and methods and solicit feedback from the project team to determine updates or refinements. Coaching and mentoring side-by-side with Superintendents, General Foremen, and Foremen during planning, startup and project execution to promote consistency and efficiency. Work with each Superintendent during pre-construction to establish equipment, labor and material plans, and compare to estimates during development. Develop and update standardized Work Plans and Work Methods used for estimating and execution; ensure alignment with the Chief Estimator across estimators and Superintendents. Support the Site/Construction Manager on each project to ensure adequate skill sets on the project. May visit proposed project sites to support estimating and business development. Basic Qualifications
Must have a valid driver license and acceptable motor vehicle driving record (MVR). Ability to supervise many employees. Thorough knowledge of tools and equipment uses and limitations. Strong communication skills to deal with owners and employees. Solid understanding of job costing. Possess the ability to become a qualified individual in pursuit of company contract licensing (if required). Ability to read and understand prints and contract documents. Know and understand required federal and state codes for the project. Extensive travel is required. Benefits

Must comply with client safety requirements (e.g., clean-shaven, long sleeves, steel-toe boots). Must pass a physical exam if required. Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, and stairways; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and work at heights or in confined spaces (towers, vessels, excavations). Lift and carry up to 50 lbs. (Use assistance for heavier loads). Stand or walk for extended periods on uneven surfaces (dirt, concrete, asphalt, mud, gravel). Must be able to wear a respirator and other PPE when required.
