Location focus: Baltimore and Washington DC area, serving MD, DC, and VA with a focus on mechanical systems construction (HVAC, plumbing, and process piping) for commercial and industrial projects. The successful candidate will estimate projects up to $10 million from bid to proposal, using Quote Soft estimating software, and collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate, competitive bids. Prepare detailed cost estimates for mechanical construction projects, including HVAC and pipe installations, based on engineering drawings, technical specifications, and other project documentation. Analyze labor, material, and time requirements for each project to determine the overall cost. Use Quote Soft estimating software to prepare and present detailed and accurate bid proposals. Participate in project meetings and conduct site visits to gather essential information for accurate estimating. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure all aspects of the project are considered in the estimate. Review and evaluate cost estimates to ensure accuracy and completeness. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, market conditions, and construction processes to provide the most accurate estimates. Manage multiple estimates simultaneously, ensuring all deadlines are met. Qualifications
A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in mechanical construction estimating, specifically in the contracting industry. Trade school education in a related field. Journeyman license is required. Extensive knowledge of mechanical and plumbing systems, including HVAC and pipe installations. Strong understanding of the Baltimore and Washington DC area construction market. Proven experience with Quote Soft estimating software. Demonstrated ability to estimate mechanical projects up to $10 million. Conceptual estimating experience is a must. Excellent analytical and mathematical skills. Strong communication and presentation skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and quality. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook. Benefits
