How this role contributes to the Y’s mission:
As a Y Family Services Manager, you will create and implement a Head Start recruitment plan to ensure 100% enrollment and establish a waiting list. You will work within the community, with families and parents/guardians, acting as an advocate, developing trusting relationships, and ensuring support services meet family goals. You will work with families to identify goals, strengths, and necessary services, providing opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge that aid in child development. Responsibilities include community partnerships, service coordination, and reporting. By working with economically disadvantaged families, you’ll help prepare children for success in school and life. This role is ideal if you have: An interest in the well-being and education of young children, along with enthusiasm, patience, good humor, good judgment, and a positive spirit Strong communication and listening skills for engaging with children, parents/guardians, members, and colleagues At least 2 years of experience working with adults in Human Services or Social Work Prior Head Start experience (preferred) An associate’s degree in social science, human services, or a related field, or a bachelor’s degree in family studies, social work, or related field (preferred) For a full list of Head Start locations, visit
