Operational Compliance Manager

is responsible for ensuring that all operational activities comply with internal standards, industry regulations, and customer requirements, with a specialized focus on training, quality assurance, welding, and non-destructive testing (NDT). This role plays a critical part in maintaining operational integrity, safety, and performance across technical and production functions. What You'll Do

Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards (e.g., ASME, AWS, ISO), and regulatory requirements. Develop and enforce operational policies and procedures related to welding and NDT. Conduct internal audits and inspections to verify compliance and identify areas for improvement. Oversee the development and delivery of training programs for welding, NDT, repair processes, and quality personnel. Ensure training content aligns with industry standards and certification requirements. Maintain training records and ensure personnel qualifications are current and documented. Quality Assurance

Lead quality initiatives to ensure products and services meet or exceed customer expectations. Monitor and analyze quality metrics; implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues. Supervise welding procedures, qualifications, and welder certifications. Ensure NDT methods (e.g., RT, UT, MT, PT) are performed in accordance with applicable standards. Review and approve welding and NDT documentation, including procedures and reports. Identify operational risks and implement mitigation strategies. Prepare compliance reports for senior leadership and regulatory bodies. Lead investigations into non-conformances and ensure timely resolution. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in quality management, or a related technical field is preferred. 10+ years of experience in compliance, quality, or operations within a manufacturing or industrial environment. Certifications such as CWI (Certified Welding Inspector), ASNT Level II/III, or equivalent are highly desirable. Strong knowledge of welding codes (e.g., AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX) and NDT standards. Experience with training program development and quality management systems (QMS). Experience with rail operations preferred. Ability to travel up to 75% of the time. Regulatory and standards compliance (OSHA, ISO, ASME, AWS, etc.). Technical knowledge of welding and NDT processes. Quality systems and audit management. Training and personnel development. Strong leadership and communication skills. Data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, QMS software).
